Viola

i would post pictures from track and field, but i am disgusted with them - so i have decided not to show any. I head back to Eugene today to try to redeem myself. We’ll see.

In lieu of track and field, i give you Viola. She is 100 years old and flew in a hot air balloon the other day. For years she said she wanted to touch the clouds - and her adult care facility gave her a shot by organizing a balloon ride for her. Her son’s hands cover her ears from the loud noise of the balloon filling up.

Rob,

Beautiful frame. Even at 100 there are still things that can make a person smile with the joy of a child. This photo makes me want to make my own grandmother smile just as big. It makes me want to do good for others. Thanks for reminding me of the mission.

I love how you can see tears forming; I love how you can tell by her son’s hands that he, too, is old. Yet still helping her dreams come true. Lovely.
