Eugene

without comments

I am down in Eugene for a few days at the track and field trials. Yesterday was my first day - the biggest track meet I ever shot was a high school semi - final 4 years ago. So, needless to say I am a little overwhelmed. But, luckily there are 99 other photographers here to show me the ropes, right? Or to laugh while i crash and burn.

Yesterday afternoon Tyson Gay won the 100 meters with a time of 9.68 seconds - the fastest run ever. But, it will not go into the record books because of a tailwind. This is a picture of him greeting fans after the run. That’s his face on the cutout. I tried to make good pictures of the race, and did fine - but Bruce Ely knocked it out of the park. You can see the paper’s coverage here.
