I am now on the college football beat, which probably means some airport time over the next few weeks.

One of the flight attendants on my most recent flight was wearing this tie. I asked him if there was a story behind it. Turns out that it was given to him by a friend in the service and he wears it everyday, “until they all come home.” I asked if his airline was OK with it and he answered, “let them try to make me take it off.” He was a nice guy and although he was busy he let me take his picture.
