Ikea opens
This past Wednesday Ikea opened in Portland. Hundreds of people lined up (some for days) to rush into the furniture store, eat meatballs and buy $39 tables. It’s funny, although Ikea is all things Sweden, it’s opening was more American than anything I can imagine. There were bands, ROTC and people who wore skis while jumping on a trampoline -what else could you ask for? The line of people wound around the store and folks were packed together like cattle. When employees would walk by with plastic yellow swag the crowd would strain and push just trying to get whatever was thrown at them. The employees marched around and slammed noise making to sticks together, endlessly. I did not time it, but it must have been hours.

That first photo is so reminiscent of your past work. I could really get into this blog of yours.
